IN MEMORY OF MY FATHER

12 years ago today, my father suddenly passed away.

Ronald “Ace” Ruth, Sr. (1948 - 2003) was the second child born to Edward Ruth and Margaret Banner Ruth. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware.

Ronald moved to Paterson, New Jersey with his mother and siblings in 1955. He was a graduate of Public School #7 in Paterson, New Jersey and he also attended Central High School, which was later named John F. Kennedy High School and graduated in 1968. While a student in high school, he received numerous awards for his great athletic abilities in track and field, football and basketball.

On June 7, 1969, he married his teenage sweetheart, Dianne Miller. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served a tour in Vietnam. He was Honorably Discharged in 1970.

For over 29 years, Ronald was employed as a ForkLift Operator with Universal Lighting Technologies located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee who rarely missed a day of work.

Eight years ago, he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and became a faithful member of Agape Christian Ministries located in Paterson, New Jersey under the leadership of Pastor Dr. James A. Kuykendall.

“Ace” was a fun loving, carefree and no nonsense individual who was well liked by everyone. Affectionately known as “Dap”, he enjoyed spending time with his family and “shooting the breeze” with friends and associates, especially about sports.

Ace is greatly missed by his daughter, son, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
